In these cold mid-winter months, let’s gather together to warm our hearts with the gifts and talents of some of our congregation and receive music and poetry for our souls. The participants were asked to choose pieces that spoke to them, including poetry that was written by our own Ashlynn Kercher. To continue our time together in music, song, and poetry, during our second hour classes, we will have an “Open Mic” for those who would like to share one of their talents.
Our Second-Hour Classes for January 26th
Sanctuary — Jam Session — Continuing in the spirit of our service: Got a song in your heart? Looking for a reason to dust off your sax or guitar? Whether you want to play, sing, or just listen and enjoy, join us for a jam session!
Library — Everyday Mindfulness w/ Beth Howard — Come and explore how to bring mindfulness practices into your everyday life!
Social Hall — Get to Know Your Legislature — Come and learn about the ins and outs of Wyoming’s Legislature as we gear up for our session!

This Month in Second Hour
Sunday 1/26 — The Ins and Outs of the Legislature, Everyday Mindfulness, and a musical Jam Session
Coming up in February . . .
Join us during Second Hour on February 2nd, 9th, and 23rd for a book discussion series! We’ll be exploring the UUA’s 2019 Common Read, An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States, which is available in a young readers edition as well. These sessions are appropriate for adults and teens. We’ve ordered some copies of the book that will be on hand starting on Sunday (donations appreciated, but not required), or you can order your own online (where it’s also available as a Kindle book and on Audible).
We look forward to seeing you all there!

The Service Auction will be here in just over a week!!
WE ARE SHORT ALMOST HALF THE ITEMS NEEDED for a great auction.
I know many of us like to wait until the last moment to turn in our donation forms, but this is the last moment. For those of you who like to see Joe squirm, I want you to know it is working. This is the UUCC Church’s largest fund-raising event, and we need it to be successful.
We need your GREAT AUCTIONS ITEMS, PARTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND DINNERS to make it successful.
Please plan to attend on Feb. 1, starting around 5:00 p.m.
For this to succeed, you need to help. There are many ways to help other than donating items.
There are sign up sheets on the sideboard for the following:
- appetizers
- dessert
- salad
- rolls or breads
- soups, chili and stews
Food not your thing? There are sign up sheets for Set Up on Jan 31 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Feb 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and a separate sign up for Tear Down after the auction is over on Sat night.
.
YOUR HELP WITH THIS GREAT EVENT IS HUGELY APPRECIATED!!!
Thanks,
Joe Corrigan

Important! Please Read!
We have been experiencing a growing issue with peanut residue in the building, especially in the library. Please, do not bring peanut products into the building, and if your little ones enjoy their peanut butter snacks before coming, please be sure their hands are clean before they touch surfaces used by everyone. We are seeing almost daily allergic reactions, so we ask you to please be diligent. It may be an inconvenience to you, but it can be life-threatening to those who are allergic.

The UUA is committed to the goal of making GA accessible to as many attendees as possible. Go to uua.org/ga to learn about scholarships to support participation – particularly of those from marginalized groups – and volunteer opportunities (work in exchange for registration). The UUA is committed to addressing the inclusion of all people, whatever their abilities might be, in all GA activities. Beyond the physical accessibility of the facilities we use – ramps, captioning, seating cut-outs, etc.- we endeavor to take the next step: to truly welcome people with disabilities into every facet of GA. |
