Launched from our Cambridge Platform Before our Annual Meeting, we gather to remind ourselves of the basis of our communities. Today, we ponder the ways that we gather, how and why it is important to work together in community and what binds us and sends us forth together in hope. May the lessons from the Cambridge Platform of 1648 to the upcoming General Assembly of UU Congregations, to lessons of Confucian practice guide us into our shared conversation about this congregation’s future. Dr. Sofia Betancourt, at the next presidential forum on May 20. Held as an in-person event at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, CA, there will also be a livestream and online participation is welcome. Registration is encouraged but not required. What are our responsibilities and our moral relationship to artificial intelligence and to each other. In today’s sermon, constructed in conversation with Emily Smith, winner of last year’s Service Auction “Sermon topic,” we will explore what it means to live with technology in harmony and to maintain our moral orientation as the lines of who and what are “creators” and “artists” seem to become ever more blurry. |
