Unitarian UniversalistChurch of CheyenneA community of refuge where all have equal worth and are invited into spiritual exploration as a foundation for: hope. compassionate service. action. The Doorway to LifeAt sundown, the holiday of Rosh Hashanah begins, marking the entry to a time between times, a liminal space in the Jewish calendar. Now, the Book of Life is open to receive the names of all who are a blessing to the world. This is a time for renewal, for atonement, forgiveness, and closure. In troubled times, we ask what it may be that we need to lay to rest as we focus on what lies ahead for each of us and for this community.

*******************************Come to Our Start-Up Saturday
facilitated by Rev. Sarah Schurr from the Pacific Western Region!

Whenever a new ministry begins, telling the story of who we have been and where we want to go is a critical part of orienting our minister to the congregation and helping one another to grow together in love. Join us Saturday, October 8th as we do this work together of connecting old and new, growing our hopes for the future from the rich heritage we share. Our morning session will run from 9:30-noon and all our members and friends are invited to attend and join in the process. Then, our Leadership committees will stay for lunch and go deeper into the process of articulating our dreams and constructing plans for the future of this congregation based on what we’ve heard during our morning session. Please join us in this process and be a part of building the Beloved Community together! Even if you cannot attend Saturday, not to worry, Rev. Elizabeth will be preaching on the process and continuation on Sunday, Oct. 9th, so you won’t miss out!

The Harvesters
When the harvest comes, we celebrate times of abundance before the chill of winter closes in. We also do well to recall the human effort that goes into the harvest times and the magic of the growing and the fallow times where the natural world changes in ways that support life and growth, leaving us grateful for the cycle which spirals ever onward. After the service today, please bring a dish and join us for a church potluck!
