Does the truth matter anymore? In an era that’s widely described as “post-truth,” what does it mean to live with integrity? Join us for worship to explore how our Unitarian Universalist faith calls us to act and live in these times.

Second-Hour returns this week!

Sanctuary — Talking to Your Legislators
As the 2020 Wyoming Legislative session approaches, learn more about how to have fruitful conversations with your elected representatives!

Library — Poetry Circle
Bring your favorite poem(s) (original, or the work of another) to share! We’ll reflect and wonder together about the joys of poetry.

Social Hall — Coffee & Conversation
Looking to connect and go deeper in a less structured setting? Grab your coffee and circle ’round to discuss questions about the themes from worship.

This Month in Second Hour
Sunday 1/19 — Potluck and Making Signs for the MLK Day March
Sunday 1/26 — The Ins and Outs of the Legislature, Everyday Mindfulness, and a musical Jam Session

Coming up in February . . .
Join us during Second Hour on February 2nd, 9th, and 23rd for a book discussion series! We’ll be exploring the UUA’s 2019 Common Read, An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States, which is available in a young readers edition as well. These sessions are appropriate for adults and teens. We’ve ordered some copies of the book that will be on hand starting on Sunday (donations appreciated, but not required), or you can order your own online (where it’s also available as a Kindle book and on Audible).

We look forward to seeing you all there!
Local organizations are welcome – and encouraged. If your organization is interested in having an informational booth at the event, feel free to email us at cheyenneflrj@gmail.com ‘

UUCC is proud to be a host site for the incredible work happening through Feminist Leaders for Reproductive Justice. Join them for this event as they bring the Reproductive Justice Framework to Cheyenne Wyoming!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
“No Plastics” includes Styrofoam.

We do not need cutlery.
Important! Please Read!

We have been experiencing a growing issue with peanut residue in the building, especially in the library.  Please, do not bring peanut products into the building, and if your little ones enjoy their peanut butter snacks before coming, please be sure their hands are clean before they touch surfaces used by everyone.  We are seeing almost daily allergic reactions, so we ask you to please be diligent. It may be an inconvenience to you, but it can be life-threatening to those who are allergic.

All are Welcome!!!

We still are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to assist in the sound booth on Sunday mornings.  Experience is not necessary: we will train you. We do ask that you commit to a schedule; it doesn’t have to be every Sunday, but we do need to know when you can cover sound. If you or someone you know would be willing to volunteer to help us in this capacity, please contact Rev. Hannah at minister@uucheyenne.org, or Tamra Mabe, our Administrator, at 638-4554 or by email at administrator@uucheyenne.org. Thanks!

Community Events & Information

If you would like to attend the banquet this year, please contact Thomas Redding @ 307-640-6038 ASAP.

If we have at least 8 people, we can reserve a table at the cost of $35 per person.  Checks will be made out to the Western Star Lodge #6 (MLK Banquet) directly this year.  Thomas will collect these and submit them for the group reservation.

We anticipate that 4,500+ UUs will gather for this unforgettable experience and leave with renewed energy and innovative ideas for congregational and community engagement.

When you register, simply click “payment plan” when prompted and, for as little as $50 down, you can spread out the balance of your registration over several months. Registration must be paid in full on or before February 29, 2020.
The UUA is committed to the goal of making GA accessible to as many attendees as possible. Go to uua.org/ga to learn about scholarships to support participation – particularly of those from marginalized groups – and volunteer opportunities (work in exchange for registration). The UUA is committed to addressing the inclusion of all people, whatever their abilities might be, in all GA activities. Beyond the physical accessibility of the facilities we use – ramps, captioning, seating cut-outs, etc.- we endeavor to take the next step: to truly welcome people with disabilities into every facet of GA.
